Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)

At Tall Oaks Academy Trust we are lucky to have Mrs Willis, our Inclusion Leader/SENDCo who develops, supports and works with teachers and parents to assist children with SEND.

Nationally it is expected that approximately 20% of children experience learning challenges at some point of their education.  All pupils in our Academies have access to the full curriculum regardless of their needs. Some children may require more specialised teaching which can be better provided within a small group or one a one-to-one basis away from the classroom.  Other children may have their learning supported by use of resources however our aim is to be as inclusive as possible and to develop our children's independence.

Working with Mrs Willis to support the children is Mrs Jones, our Trust Safeguarding Manager / DDSL.  Mrs Willis and Mrs Jones offer drop in appointments every Wednesday morning to support families with matters regarding SEND and Family Welfare. If you wish to make a drop-in appointment  please contact the school office.

To find out how we support children with SEND please look at our SEN Information Report and our SEND Policy.
